HOKA Return Policy: Test Your Shoes for 30 Days, 60 Days as a Member
HOKA’s return policy is built around one bold promise: the Fly for 30 Guarantee. Buy a pair of shoes directly from HOKA, run in them, and if you are not totally satisfied you can send them back within 30 days of the original purchase for a full refund or exchange — no questions asked, even if the shoes are worn.
Join the free HOKA Membership and that window doubles to 60 days. Returns ship free, refunds go back to your original payment method, and holiday orders get extra time. This guide covers the windows, the worn-shoe rule, what cannot go back, and how fast each refund lands.
Return Period: 30 days from original purchase (60 days for HOKA Members)
Fly for 30 Guarantee: Worn and tested shoes accepted, no questions asked
Return Shipping: Free prepaid label for eligible online orders in the contiguous US
Refund Processing: Up to 15 business days after HOKA receives the return
| Category | Return window | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Shoes and apparel, non-members | 30 days from the original purchase | Fly for 30 Guarantee — worn and road-tested shoes accepted for a full refund or exchange |
| HOKA Members | 60 days from the original purchase | Membership is free; you must be signed in at checkout for the 60-day benefit to apply |
| Holiday orders (5 Oct–31 Dec 2026) | Through 31 January 2027 | Unworn items; the 30-day Fly for 30 limit still applies to worn shoes |
| Final sale, personalised and gift-card items | Not returnable | Final sale is marked with a red line through the product tag |
| Warranty claims (defects) | 1 year from purchase or delivery | Separate from the returns window; defects in materials or workmanship only |
- Check your window and your membership. Count 30 days from the original purchase date — or 60 days if you are a HOKA Member and were signed in at checkout. The clock starts at purchase, not at delivery.
- Start the return in HOKA’s online returns portal. Go to hoka.com/returns, enter your order number and ZIP code or email, and choose refund or exchange. The portal generates a prepaid return label or a QR code.
- Pack the shoes as a complete pair. Send both shoes back in a shipping box. They must still be part of the current HOKA line, and unworn items should be in their original condition.
- Ship it back free, or drop it at a store. Use the prepaid label with the carrier, or take the return to a HOKA Concept Store. Free return shipping applies to eligible online orders shipped from the contiguous United States.
- Wait for processing. HOKA asks you to allow up to 15 business days from the date you send the return for the refund or exchange to be processed. If more than 15 business days pass without news, contact HOKA with your shipping receipt.
How Long Do You Have to Return Items to HOKA?
The standard window is 30 days from the original purchase date for everyone, and 60 days for HOKA Members who were signed in at checkout. Membership is free, so joining before you order is the simplest way to double your window — but the purchase must be linked to your account at checkout, so join first and sign in when you buy.
What makes HOKA different from most shoe brands is that the 30 days are a genuine trial. The Fly for 30 Guarantee invites you to take the shoes for a “test flight” — run in them, walk in them, wear them outside — and still send them back for a full refund or exchange if they are not right. No questions asked. The guarantee covers products bought directly through HOKA.com, HOKA Concept Stores or the HOKA call centre. If you bought your HOKAs from an authorised retailer instead, that store’s own return policy governs the return, and the worn-shoe guarantee may not apply.
Can You Return Worn HOKA Shoes?
Yes — that is the whole point of the Fly for 30 Guarantee. HOKA explicitly invites you to test the shoes and send them back within 30 days of the original purchase even after you have worn them, for a full refund or product exchange. Members get 60 days to do the same. Two conditions still apply: the shoes must come back as a complete pair in a shipping box, and they must still be in the current product line on HOKA.com. HOKA reserves the right to verify customer information, require valid proof of purchase, and deny guarantee requests where it determines a customer is abusing the guarantee or has engaged in fraud.
The worn-shoe rule is also where the holiday extension stops. During the holiday season, unworn items bought between 5 October and 31 December 2026 can be returned through 31 January 2027 — but items worn and returned under the Fly for 30 Guarantee still run on the standard 30 days (60 days for Members). So if you run in a pair over Christmas, count 30 days from purchase, not to the end of January.
Can You Return to HOKA Without a Receipt?
HOKA’s returns run through its online portal, which identifies your order by order number and ZIP code or email — that is your proof of purchase. HOKA reserves the right to require valid proof of purchase for a guarantee request, so keep your order confirmation email. If you bought in a HOKA Concept Store, bring the receipt or the card you paid with so the store can find the purchase. There is no published no-receipt merchandise-credit route at HOKA, so a return without any way to identify the order is likely to be refused — keep the confirmation email until the shoes have survived their trial.
How Do Online Returns and In-Store Returns Work?
A HOKA.com order gives you two routes back. By mail, register the return in the online returns portal, print the prepaid label or use the QR code, and ship the parcel back — free for eligible orders from the contiguous United States. HOKA cannot accept responsibility for parcels sent back through a shipping partner other than its own, so use the label it issues. In store, take the item to a HOKA Concept Store, where the same 30-day (or 60-day member) window applies.
Exchanges work the same way, with one wrinkle: if the size or colour you want is not available, HOKA refunds the order automatically instead. And if you paid with Afterpay, an exchange is limited to the same model, width and colour — anything else means returning for a refund and placing a fresh order. Original shipping charges are not refunded when an item is returned for a refund, because the delivery service was still used.
What Can’t Be Returned to HOKA?
HOKA publishes a short list of items that are not eligible for return or exchange:
- Final sale items — merchandise marked Final Sale, identified by a red line through the product tag
- Monogrammed or personalised products
- Gift cards
- Items bought from another retailer — HOKA cannot refund or exchange products purchased from an authorised retailer; those go back to the store that sold them
Normal wear and tear is also outside the warranty: the one-year warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship, not outsoles worn through from running. Fit or comfort problems belong in the 30-day or 60-day returns window, not the warranty claim.
How Are Refunds Issued and How Long Do They Take?
Once HOKA receives your return, the refund goes back to your original payment method only — there is no option to take it as cash or as a different card. The timing works like this:
| Return route | How the refund timing works |
|---|---|
| Online order returned by mail | Allow up to 15 business days from the date you send the return for processing; the refund is then sent to your original payment method |
| Online order returned in store | Processed at the store; the refund is sent to your original payment method |
| Exchange requested | A new tracking number is sent once the replacement ships; if the exchange is not available, the order is refunded automatically |
| Warranty claim | HOKA inspects the shoes and, at its discretion, replaces them or issues a refund or credit |
If more than 15 business days have passed since you sent the return and you have not heard from HOKA, contact Customer Service with a copy of your shipping receipt so it can investigate. Your bank’s own posting time comes on top of HOKA’s processing time.
Does HOKA Extend Returns for the Holidays?
Yes. HOKA has published a holiday extension for the 2026 season: orders placed between 5 October and 31 December 2026 can be returned through 31 January 2027 for a refund or exchange, online through the returns portal or in a HOKA store. All other returns terms stay the same. Remember the worn-shoe exception above: items worn and returned under the Fly for 30 Guarantee still run on the standard 30 days (60 days for Members), even during the holiday period — only unworn items get the full run to 31 January.

HOKA’s return policy is one of the most generous in running shoes, because it lets you actually run in the product before deciding. Thirty days to test, sixty as a free member, free return shipping and no questions asked — the only real limits are the final-sale and personalised exclusions, and the fact that the guarantee only covers purchases made directly from HOKA. Join the membership before you buy, keep your order confirmation, and send worn shoes back as a complete pair inside the window.
