Bershka Return Policy — 30 days, free in-store returns and original-payment refunds

Bershka Return Policy: 30 Days From Shipping Confirmation — and Free Returns Only In Store

Bershka’s US return policy is short, strict and easy to plan around. For an online order, you have 30 days from the date of the Shipment Confirmation email to return or exchange an item. For a purchase made in a store, you have 30 days from the original purchase date.

The condition test is the same in both cases. The item must be new, unworn, unwashed and unaltered, with all internal garment tags intact, and you must have the original receipt.

The refund follows the way you paid. Refunds are made in the form of original payment, and a purchase paid for with a gift card only is refunded as merchandise credit.

One warning matters before you start. This guide covers the US store only. Bershka sells in many countries, and other markets publish different fees and methods. Do not carry a fee or a method from another country’s page into a US return.

Return Period: 30 days from the Shipment Confirmation email for online orders; 30 days from the original purchase date for in-store purchases

Condition: New, unworn, unwashed and unaltered, with all internal garment tags intact, plus all original boxes, instructions, documents and wrappings

Proof of Purchase / No Receipt: Original receipt required; in-store purchases state plainly “We do not accept returns without a receipt” and no no-receipt fallback is published for US returns

Refunds: To the original payment method; gift-card-only purchases refunded as merchandise credit, which does not expire; refunds processed within 30 days of the returned goods being received, with 1-2 billing cycles allowed for the refund to appear

How to Return an Item to Bershka

  1. Check the date first. For an online order, count 30 days from the Shipment Confirmation email, not from the day you ordered and not from the day the parcel arrived. For a store purchase, count 30 days from the original purchase date.
  2. Check the condition honestly. The item must be new, unworn, unwashed and unaltered, with all internal garment tags intact. If you have worn it, washed it or altered it, it does not meet the published test.
  3. Find the original receipt. The US Terms frame acceptance around the original receipt for both online and in-store returns. For in-store purchases the rule is blunt: returns without a receipt are not accepted.
  4. Pack everything that came with it. Include all original boxes, instructions, documents and wrappings. For an online return, send the product in the same package received, following the directions in the Help section’s “RETURNS” part.
  5. Pick one of the three online routes. Return in person at a US Bershka store that has the product section for your item, use the drop-off location of the courier shown on the prepaid return label, or use at-home pick-up through UPS if it is available for your location.
  6. Know which route is free. The in-person store return is at no additional cost. Drop-off and at-home pick-up returns carry a shipping fee that is deducted from your refund total. The US Terms do not state that fee amount, so do not assume a figure from another market.
  7. Keep proof until the refund lands. Bershka states that it is not responsible for lost packages, so keep your drop-off or pick-up record until the refund appears.

How Long Do You Have to Return Items to Bershka?

For online orders, the answer is 30 days from the date of the Shipment Confirmation email. That email is the trigger, so find it before you count. A longer period applies only if one was specified in writing at the time of purchase, in the Order Confirmation or in the Shipment Confirmation itself.

For in-store purchases, the answer is 30 days from the original purchase date. The receipt date is the start of that clock. There is no second clock in the US Terms for store purchases, and no grace period is published.

Two special cases work differently. An order placed on an in-store device and paid at the till can only go back to a store. A defective product claim must be brought within 24 months after initial purchase, or it is deemed waived, even though the ordinary return window is 30 days.

Can You Return to Bershka Without a Receipt?

On the published US terms, no. The online rule accepts returns or exchanges of qualifying merchandise with your original receipt. The in-store rule is even clearer, and it is worth quoting because it leaves no room for argument: “We do not accept returns without a receipt.”

That means there is no published US fallback of store credit for a receiptless return, and no ID-based lookup promise in the US Terms checked here. If you cannot find the receipt, contact Customer Service before you travel to a store or send a parcel.

For online orders, keep your order record and the Shipment Confirmation email ready. They show the purchase and start the 30-day clock, but they do not replace the receipt requirement as written.

Returning Online vs In Store: What Is Different?

An online order has three ways back. You can return in person at no additional cost at any US Bershka store, excluding Puerto Rico and all other territories, provided that store contains the product section for the item. You can use a drop-off location of the courier shown on the prepaid return label. Or you can use at-home pick-up through UPS, if available where you live.

A store purchase has one way back: the store. The US Terms give store purchases no mail, drop-off or home pick-up route, and they carry the strictest receipt rule in the policy.

The refund direction is the same for both channels. Refunds go to the original payment method if it is available. If that method is not available, contact Customer Service for an online return. For a store return in that situation, or for a gift-card-only purchase, the customer is provided with merchandise credit.

What Can’t Be Returned to Bershka?

  • Monogrammed or customised products — not returnable or exchangeable at all
  • Anything worn, washed or altered, or missing its internal garment tags — it fails the basic condition test
  • Items returned after the 30 days — Bershka reserves the right to refuse returns communicated or sent after the deadline, and items not in the same condition as received
  • Items bought in Puerto Rico or outside the US — including gift cards and merchandise credit cards bought there, which are not returnable or exchangeable in the US
  • Non-Bershka merchandise included in a return — Bershka states it is not responsible for such items
  • Underwear and swimwear outside their packaging rule — they are returnable or exchangeable only while they remain in the original packaging with the hygiene sticker attached
  • Accessories, cosmetics and perfumes that have been used or unpacked — they must be unused, in their original condition and original packaging
  • Returns without a receipt — expressly not accepted for in-store purchases, and the online rule is also written around the original receipt

Sale items deserve a separate note. Subject to applicable law, on-sale merchandise is sold “as-is”, and price adjustments will not be honoured for marked-down merchandise.

How Are Refunds Issued and How Long Do They Take?

Refunds are made in the form of original payment. That is the headline rule for both online and in-store returns. Two exceptions change the form of the refund. A purchase made with a gift card only is refunded as merchandise credit. If the original form of payment is not available, an online customer should contact Customer Service, and a store customer in that position is provided with merchandise credit.

Merchandise credits do not expire, but they may not be converted to cash, except as required by applicable law.

On timing, Bershka publishes two different clocks. First, it will process your refund as soon as possible and in any case within 30 days of the date the returned goods have been received. Second, for card payments, you should allow 1-2 billing cycles for the refund to appear on your bank statement, because banks differ.

Two costs are not refunded on an ordinary return. The cost of expedited shipping for the original order is not refunded. The shipping fee for a drop-off or at-home pick-up return is deducted from your refund total. The in-store return avoids that second cost entirely.

Defective products follow a better rule. If a defect is confirmed, the product is refunded in full, including delivery charges and any reasonable costs incurred in returning it.

How Do Bershka Exchanges Work?

The US Terms accept returns or exchanges of qualifying merchandise within the same 30-day condition and time rules. That means an exchange is not a separate, longer window. It is the same test: new, unworn, unwashed and unaltered, tags intact, original receipt, within 30 days.

The practical exchange route is the store. An in-person return must go to a US store that contains the product section for the item, which is also what makes a size or colour swap possible there. The US Terms do not publish a separate exchange-by-mail process, so do not assume a mailed exchange will be processed as one.

Two exchange limits are stated plainly. PayPal and Apple Pay orders are not exchangeable online. Orders placed on an in-store device and paid at the till are exchangeable only at a US store. Monogrammed or customised products, and the underwear, swimwear, accessory, cosmetic and perfume condition rules above, are excluded from exchanges on the same terms as returns.

If the size or colour you want is not in stock at the store, return the item for a refund and place a new order.

Does Bershka Extend Returns for the Holidays?

No extended holiday return window is published in Bershka’s US Terms and Conditions as checked on 2 November 2026. A search of that document for “holiday” returned no holiday extension, and no longer festive period is stated alongside the 30-day rule.

That makes the calendar matter for gifts. An online gift bought early in December is still governed by the Shipment Confirmation email date, not by Christmas Day. A store gift is governed by the original purchase date. Keep the receipt with the gift, keep the tags intact, and do not let the recipient wear or wash the item before deciding.

Frequently Asked Questions

You have 30 days from the Shipment Confirmation email for an online order, and 30 days from the original purchase date for a store purchase. Items must be new, unworn, unwashed and unaltered, with all internal garment tags intact and the original receipt. In-store returns are free, drop-off and at-home pick-up returns carry a shipping fee deducted from the refund, and refunds go to the original payment method.

Thirty days. For online orders the clock starts on the date of the Shipment Confirmation email. For in-store purchases it starts on the original purchase date. A longer period applies only if it was specified in writing at purchase, in the Order Confirmation or in the Shipment Confirmation.

In-store returns are free. Drop-off and at-home pick-up returns are not: a shipping fee is charged and deducted from the refund total. The US Terms do not state that fee amount, so check the return label or your account before you send a parcel.

No, on the published US terms. The online rule is written around the original receipt, and the in-store rule states plainly that Bershka does not accept returns without a receipt. No receiptless fallback, such as store credit at a lower price, is published for US returns.

Yes, under the same 30-day condition and receipt rules, and the practical route is a US store that contains the product section for the item. PayPal and Apple Pay orders are not exchangeable online, and orders placed on an in-store device and paid at the till can only be exchanged at a store. Monogrammed or customised products cannot be exchanged.

Bershka processes the refund as soon as possible and in any case within 30 days of receiving the returned goods. After that, allow 1-2 billing cycles for it to appear on your bank statement. Expedited shipping on the original order is not refunded, and any drop-off or pick-up fee is deducted from the refund.

Monogrammed or customised products cannot be returned at all. Worn, washed, altered or tagless items fail the condition test. Underwear and swimwear must stay in their original packaging with the hygiene sticker attached, and accessories, cosmetics and perfumes must be unused and in their original packaging. Items bought in Puerto Rico or outside the US cannot be returned in the US.

No extended holiday return window is published in Bershka’s US Terms and Conditions as checked on 2 November 2026. The 30-day rule stands, so a December gift is still governed by its Shipment Confirmation email date online, or its original purchase date in store.

Conclusion

Bershka’s US policy rewards one habit above all: keep the receipt, keep the tags and decide within 30 days. Do that, and the cheapest route is simple — take the item to a US store that carries its section, where the return costs nothing extra and the refund goes back to your original payment method. Use drop-off or home pick-up only if you accept a shipping fee deducted from the refund.
