Azazie return policy

Azazie Return Policy: 30 Days on Standard Sizes — but Custom Sizes Are Final Sale

Azazie’s return policy, published in its US help centre, turns on a single distinction: how the dress was sized. Standard-size dresses, suits and most accessories can be returned within 30 days of delivery; custom-size dresses cannot be returned at all — they are final sale, made to your measurements. Jewelry and headpieces run on a much shorter clock, 7 days from delivery, and try-on dresses must be bought or sent back within 7 days of delivery too.

Everything returnable must be unworn, unwashed, unaltered and undamaged, with all tags attached — though trying a dress on at home for fit is explicitly fine. Returns carry a per-item return shipping fee deducted from your refund — in the US, $9.99 per wedding dress, $6.99 per other dress and $3.99 per non-dress item — unless you exchange, use your own label, or are returning a try-on dress. Refunds go to your original payment method or your Azazie account balance, and the balance is the faster of the two.

RETURN PERIOD – 30 days from delivery for standard-size dresses, suits & most accessories — 7 days for jewelry & headpieces and for try-on dresses

RETURN FEES – Per item, deducted from the refund — $9.99 per wedding dress, $6.99 per other dress, $3.99 per non-dress item (US); no fee for exchanges, try-on dresses or using your own label

CONDITION – Unworn, unwashed, unaltered and undamaged, clean, with all tags attached — trying on at home for fit is allowed

REFUNDS – Original payment method or Azazie account balance; issued 3–10 business days after processing, or 1–3 business days to account balance

How to Return an Item to Azazie

  1. Start on azazie.com, not at the post office. Go to the returns page and click “Start My Return”, then enter your order number and email address. Guests check out the same way — use the order lookup page with your order number and checkout email; no account is required to return.
  2. Select your items and your return method. Only approved items on your return authorization can go back — Azazie will not refund items sent without authorization, sent in error, or that fail the condition rules, and it cannot send them back to you.
  3. Choose Happy Returns for speed (US only). You get a QR code by email; take the item and the code to any Happy Returns location — no box, label or printer needed — within your return window. The exception: bridal gown try-on dresses cannot use Happy Returns and must go back with the prepaid label in the package.
  4. Or choose mail-in. A printable shipping label is emailed to you; box the item, attach the label and drop it with the designated carrier — it must be postmarked within your return window. Use one label per package and never reuse a label on a second box.
  5. Keep the tags on and the dress clean. Items must be unworn, unwashed, unaltered, undamaged and free of lint, hair and makeup residue, with tags attached — but do try the dress on at home first; a fitting is not “wear.”
  6. Expect the fee to come out of the refund. The per-item return shipping fee is deducted automatically from your refund. Then the wait begins: mail-in returns are processed 4–6 business days after they reach the warehouse; Happy Returns returns are processed within minutes of the drop-off scan.

How Long Do You Have to Return Items to Azazie?

30 days from delivery for standard-size dresses, suits and most accessories — the window most shoppers will use. Two categories run far shorter: jewelry and headpieces get 7 days from delivery, and try-on dresses must be purchased or returned within 7 days of delivery, or by the extended deadline Azazie gives you. One genuinely helpful counting rule: if your order arrives in more than one package, the window is counted per order number and starts when the last package for that order is delivered — an early first parcel does not start your clock. And one hard edge: a try-on dress that is neither bought nor returned in time is deemed purchased, at which point it joins the final-sale list and cannot be returned at all.

Can You Return to Azazie Without a Receipt?

Azazie has no paper receipt to lose — it is an online-only retailer, and its returns run entirely off the order record. To start a return you need your order number and the email address used at checkout; if you checked out as a guest, the order lookup page opens the same return flow without an account. What you cannot do is improvise around the system: items sent back without authorization, items that were never Azazie’s, and items that fail the condition requirements are not eligible for a refund, and Azazie states it cannot return, replace or compensate for them. In practice, your “receipt” is the order confirmation email — keep it until the dress is a keeper.

What Can’t Be Returned to Azazie?

Azazie’s final-sale list, as published in its help centre:

  • Custom-size dresses — made to your measurements; the biggest single exclusion in the policy
  • Purchased try-on dresses — including try-ons kept past the 7-day deadline, which are deemed purchased
  • Swatches and fabric by the yard
  • Tape measures
  • Bouquets
  • Garment bags (bought ones — a free garment bag or pannier included with your order is yours to keep and need not be returned)
  • Shapewear and intimates
  • Swimwear
  • Personalized products
  • Anything marked final sale on its product page
  • Anything that fails the condition test — obvious signs of wear, alterations or missing tags mean the return will not be accepted

One more published reservation: Azazie may limit, refuse or reject returns from customers with an irregular or excessive returns history that suggests “wardrobing” — buying to wear once and send back. And damaged, incorrect or defective items do not belong in the standard return flow at all: the returns page routes them to a separate report link, so use that instead of a regular return.

How Are Refunds Issued and How Long Do They Take?

Your refund is the amount you paid for the item plus applicable taxes, minus the per-item return shipping fee. What a refund never includes: original shipping fees, rush fees, and the taxes paid on those fees. You choose the destination — the original payment method (open to all customers) or your Azazie account balance. The timelines, as published in the help centre, split by return route:

  • Mail-in returns are processed in 4–6 business days after arrival at Azazie’s warehouse. After processing, the refund itself is issued in 3–10 business days to the original payment method, or 1–3 business days to an account balance.
  • Happy Returns returns are processed within minutes once scanned at drop-off, and the refund is then issued on the same schedule: 3–10 business days to the original payment method, 1–3 business days to the account balance.

Two consequences follow. The account balance is always the faster money, by about a week. And mail-in is a journey, not an event — transit to the warehouse, the 4–6 business day processing window and the 3–10 business day refund window stack, so a mailed return is measured in weeks from door to bank. Start it early if the money matters.

Azazie Return Shipping Fees

A return shipping fee is deducted per item from your refund, as published on Azazie’s live Return Policy & Instructions page for the United States (verified at publish time, 1 November 2026). Original shipping and rush fees are non-refundable, and the fee is waived for US exchanges. Try-on dresses and returns sent with your own shipping label are also fee-free.

ItemReturn shipping fee (US)
Wedding dresses$9.99 per item
All other dresses & suits$6.99 per item
All other items$3.99 per item

How Do Azazie Exchanges Work?

Exchanges are a US-only, account-only feature: US customers with an Azazie account can exchange eligible items instead of returning them, and guest checkout orders are not eligible for exchanges. The eligible pool is the returnable pool — standard-size dresses can be exchanged for a different size or color of the same style, or a different style entirely — while custom sizes, final sale items and anything past its window cannot. The financial sweetener is real: return shipping fees are waived for exchanges, so swapping a size costs nothing where returning the same dress would cost $6.99. Choose the exchange route inside the same returns flow on azazie.com; if you checked out as a guest and need a different size, your only route is a return for a refund and a new order.

Does Azazie Extend Returns for the Holidays?

No extended holiday return window is published in Azazie’s US help centre or on azazie.com as of 1 November 2026 — the 30 days from delivery for standard sizes (and 7 days for jewelry, headpieces and try-ons) is the year-round rule. For occasionwear that is less painful than it sounds: the clock starts at delivery, not at the event, and a dress ordered for a December party starts its 30 days when it lands on your doorstep. The date to fear is not Christmas but the calendar on a custom order — a custom-size dress has no return window in any month of the year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Standard-size dresses, suits and most accessories can be returned within 30 days of delivery; jewelry and headpieces within 7 days. Items must be unworn, unwashed, unaltered and undamaged with tags attached, though trying on at home is fine. A per-item return shipping fee is deducted from your refund, custom-size dresses and final sale items can never be returned, and refunds go to your original payment method or Azazie account balance.

No. Custom-size dresses are final sale — they are made to your measurements and are the policy’s headline exclusion, with no return or exchange at any point. The same applies to purchased try-on dresses, swatches, fabric by the yard, personalized products, shapewear, swimwear and anything marked final sale.

The return shipping fee is charged per item and deducted from your refund: in the US, $9.99 per wedding dress, $6.99 per other dress and $3.99 per non-dress item. There is no fee if you use your own shipping label, if the item is from the At-Home Try On Program, or if you exchange instead (US orders). Original shipping and rush fees are never refunded.

By route: a Happy Returns drop-off is processed within minutes of the scan; a mail-in return is processed 4–6 business days after it reaches the warehouse. After processing, refunds are issued in 3–10 business days to the original payment method, or 1–3 business days to your Azazie account balance — the balance is the faster option.

You pay a non-refundable try-on fee — $10 per bridesmaid, junior, mother of the bride, maternity or modest dress, $15 per wedding dress — which covers shipping both ways. You then have 7 days from delivery (or your extended deadline) to buy the dress or return it; keep it past the deadline and it is deemed purchased and becomes final sale. Buy the exact try-on dress and you get 15% off it.

Yes, if you are a US customer with an Azazie account: standard-size dresses can be exchanged for another size or color of the same style, or a different style, inside the return window, and the return shipping fee is waived for exchanges. Guest checkout orders cannot be exchanged — return for a refund and reorder instead.

Unworn, unwashed, unaltered and undamaged, clean and free of lint, hair and makeup residue, in original condition with all tags attached. Trying the dress on at home for fit does not count as wear. Items showing obvious wear, alterations or missing tags will not be accepted, and try-on dresses returned with wear beyond fitting are charged at full retail price.

Do not use the standard return flow. Azazie’s returns page routes damaged, incorrect or defective items to a separate report link — start there so the problem is logged as Azazie’s error rather than as an ordinary change-of-mind return.

Conclusion

Azazie’s policy is generous exactly where a standard-size shopper needs it — 30 days, a fitting at home that doesn’t count as wear, a multi-package clock that starts with the last delivery, and an exchange route that waives the return fee — and absolute where it cannot afford to be: a custom-size dress is yours from the moment it is cut. The money maths rewards planning. Return by Happy Returns if you can, take the account balance if you will shop again, and never let a jewelry or try-on deadline slip, because seven days is the shortest fuse in this batch of guides.
