ALDO Return Policy: 30 Days, Free Returns in Store and a $5.95 Fee by Mail

ALDO’s return policy gives you 30 days from purchase to return or exchange unworn merchandise for a full refund, provided the items are in good condition, in their original packaging with all tags attached, and you present a valid receipt. The channel rules are the part to learn: in-store returns are always free, returns sent back to the online warehouse cost $5.95 per order, exchanges can only be completed in store, and store purchases can only be returned in store.

Refunds go to the original form of payment, and ALDO asks you to allow up to 14 days for the transaction to be processed.

How to Return an Item to ALDO

  1. Check the 30 days, the condition and the receipt first. Count from the date of purchase. The item must be unworn — not worn, soiled, washed or damaged — in its original packaging with all original tags attached, and you must present a valid receipt.
  2. Choose the free route if you can: a store. ALDO offers free in-store returns on all orders, whether the purchase was made in store or online. Bring the item and your receipt to a nearby store.
  3. Use the store route if you want an exchange. Exchanges can only be completed in store — there is no way to exchange an item online. An online purchase can be exchanged at a store; a store purchase can be returned or exchanged at a store.
  4. For an online order, you can also return it online. Start the return on aldoshoes.com and you will receive a QR code with drop-off instructions; ALDO uses Happy Returns to process online returns. Orders returned via the Return Bar or by mail include a $5.95 fee — ALDO’s policy page describes it as $5.95 per order, covering restocking and postage back to the warehouse.
  5. Do not mail back a store purchase. Returns by mail are only accepted for orders placed online. Anything bought in a store goes back to a store.
  6. Wait for the refund to process. ALDO issues the refund to the original form of payment and asks you to allow up to 14 days for the transaction to be processed. Shipping and handling costs are not refundable.

How Long Do You Have to Return Items to ALDO?

The window is 30 days from purchase, and it is the same for online and in-store purchases — ALDO’s policy page opens with it: returns of unworn merchandise are gladly accepted for a full refund or exchange within 30 days of purchase. The conditions travel with the window: good condition, original packaging, all tags attached, and a valid receipt presented. ALDO measures from purchase, not from delivery, so an online order that took a week to arrive has three weeks of its window left, not four.

Can You Return an Online Order to a Store?

Yes — ALDO actively prefers it. Online purchases can be returned online or in-store, in-store returns are always free, and the store is the only place an exchange can happen at all. The mirror-image rule catches people out: store purchases can only be returned in store, and mail returns are accepted only for orders placed online. There is no route that lets a store purchase travel back by post.

Can You Return to ALDO Without a Receipt?

ALDO’s policy page lists its conditions for all returns and exchanges, and one of them is: “You must present a valid receipt.” Unlike retailers that publish a store-credit fallback for receiptless returns, ALDO’s published policy states no no-receipt route — no merchandise-credit rule and no lookup promise appears on the official Returns & Exchange Policy page. Treat the receipt (or, for an online order, your order details) as part of the item, and ask a store what it can do before travelling if yours is missing — but the published policy gives no guarantee there.

What Can’t Be Returned to ALDO?

ALDO’s published exclusions are:

  • Hosiery, earrings, hair accessories and insoles — not eligible for return or exchange, for hygienic reasons
  • Clearance items ending in .97 and marked as Finale Sale — not eligible for return or exchange
  • Worn, soiled, washed or damaged items — merchandise must be unworn and in good condition, in original packaging with all tags attached
  • Items bought from other retailers, including department stores — these go back to the store they were originally purchased from, under that retailer’s return policy
  • Anything without a valid receipt — presenting one is a stated condition of every return and exchange

One payment note rather than an exclusion: purchases made via Klarna, Afterpay or PayPal are subject to their own return policies, per ALDO’s page — check the payment provider’s terms as well as ALDO’s before returning an order paid that way.

How Are Refunds Issued and How Long Do They Take?

ALDO issues refunds to the original form of payment for both online and in-store returns, and states the same timing for both: please allow up to 14 days for your transaction to be processed. Two amounts never come back: shipping and handling costs are not refundable, and a mail or Return Bar return carries the $5.95 per-order fee covering restocking and postage back to the warehouse. In-store returns avoid the fee entirely, which is why the store route is the better default whenever a store is reachable.

Does ALDO Extend Returns for the Holidays?

No extended holiday window is published on ALDO’s official Returns & Exchange Policy page as of 31 October 2026 — the page states the standard 30 days from purchase and nothing seasonal on top of it. For gift buying, that makes the purchase date the number that matters: a gift bought in late November is inside its window on Christmas Day, but one bought in mid-November may not be. Keep the receipt with the gift — ALDO requires a valid receipt for every return and exchange — and, if the size is a guess, remember an exchange can only be completed in a store.

ALDO’s policy makes presenting a valid receipt a condition of all returns and exchanges, and publishes no store-credit fallback for receiptless returns. Ask a store what it can do, but the published policy promises nothing without a receipt.

ALDO asks you to allow up to 14 days for the transaction to be processed, for both online and in-store returns. The refund goes to the original form of payment; shipping and handling costs are not refunded, and a mail return’s $5.95 fee comes off as well.

Related Guides

ALDO’s return policy is simple to state and strict about channels: 30 days from purchase, unworn with tags and receipt, free at any store — and $5.95, online-orders-only, if the parcel goes back instead. The exchange rule is the one to plan around: there is no online exchange, so a wrong size bought online means a trip to a store or a return-and-reorder. Keep the receipt, keep the tags on until you are sure, and default to the store route to keep the return free.
