FragranceNet Return Policy: 30 Days From Receipt, Unopened Only, and Nothing Goes Back Without an RMA
FragranceNet accepts returns of unopened merchandise within 30 days of receipt. The item must be in its original condition, with the original packaging and the packing slip, and the refund is a full refund minus shipping charges.
The unopened rule is absolute for a fragrance retailer. A bottle you have sprayed cannot go back. Neither can three entire categories: skincare, haircare and makeup are excluded from refunds and exchanges altogether, for health and safety reasons.
Every return starts the same way, with permission. You must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number before sending your return, and include it with the parcel. Once the return is approved, FragranceNet issues the RMA together with a prepaid return label, or a QR code you can use at a participating UPS Store.
Returns are processed within up to 14 business days of FragranceNet receiving them. This guide covers the 30-day window, the unopened rule, the excluded categories, and the trackable-shipping rule that decides who carries the risk in transit.

How to Return an Item to FragranceNet
- Check the item is unopened and inside 30 days. The window runs from receipt. The item must be unopened, in original condition, in its original packaging, and you need the packing slip.
- Check the category. If the item is skincare, haircare or makeup, stop here. Those categories cannot be refunded or exchanged at all.
- Start the return and get your RMA number. Begin the return process on fragrancenet.com to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization number. Do not ship anything before you have it.
- Wait for the label or QR code. Once the return is approved, FragranceNet issues the RMA number along with a prepaid return label. You can also use a QR code at a participating UPS Store, with no printer needed. FragranceNet does not mail physical labels.
- Include the RMA number with the return. FragranceNet asks for the number to be included so the return can be processed efficiently. Returns go to the Returns Department at 900 Grand Blvd., Deer Park, NY 11729.
- Ship with a trackable courier. All returns must be shipped using a trackable service such as UPS, FedEx or USPS with Delivery Confirmation. FragranceNet is not responsible for a package it does not receive and cannot be tracked.
- Allow for processing. FragranceNet asks for up to 14 business days from the date it receives your return to process the refund or exchange. You can confirm the status of your return on the site, with or without an account.
How Long Do You Have to Return Items to FragranceNet?
You have 30 days from receipt. Unlike retailers that count from the purchase or shipment date, FragranceNet counts from when the order reaches you, which makes the window easy to measure: the delivery date plus 30 days.
The short window after ordering works the other way for cancellations. There is a small window of time after an order is placed during which it can still be cancelled, through the Request Cancellation option on the order status page. FragranceNet does not publish its length, because it varies with when the order was placed. Once it passes, the order is in processing or fulfilment, and your remedy is the return policy after delivery.
One more deadline protects you rather than FragranceNet. If your package never arrives, you must notify FragranceNet within 15 days of the order date. Miss that and a non-delivery claim is outside the published terms.
What Condition Must the Item Be In?
The item must be unopened, in its original condition, in the original packaging, and accompanied by the packing slip. All four parts are in the policy’s opening sentence, and all four are conditions of the refund.
For fragrance, unopened means the seal is intact. A tester spray settles the question the wrong way: an opened bottle is used merchandise, and used merchandise is outside this policy. That is the standard rule across fragrance discounters, and it is why a blind buy at FragranceNet carries more risk than the 30 days suggests.
The packing slip requirement is the part shoppers forget. It travels in the box with the order, so keep the whole box, packaging and paperwork intact until you have decided to keep the item. The RMA number must also be included with the return when you send it.
What Can’t Be Returned to FragranceNet?
FragranceNet’s exclusions are categorical:
- Skincare items. No refunds or exchanges, for health and safety reasons.
- Haircare items. Excluded on the same grounds.
- Makeup items. Excluded on the same grounds.
- Opened merchandise of any kind. The return covers unopened items only, so a sprayed fragrance is as final as a used lipstick.
- Anything sent without an RMA number. The authorization comes first; a parcel that arrives without it is outside the process.
- Anything FragranceNet believes is policy abuse. FragranceNet reserves the right to deny returns, refunds or exchanges in cases of suspected fraud, abuse or misuse of the return policy.
The category exclusions are worth weighing before you order. A skincare or makeup product bought from FragranceNet is a final purchase from the moment it ships. There is no exchange route around the rule, because the page refuses exchanges for those categories in the same sentence as refunds.
How Are Refunds Issued and How Long Do They Take?
An eligible return earns a full refund minus shipping charges. The refund is of the item price; the shipping on the original order is not part of it.
| Refund question | FragranceNet’s published rule |
| Refund amount | Full refund minus shipping charges |
| Return shipping costs | Not refundable, unless the return is due to an error on FragranceNet’s part |
| Return label | Prepaid label issued with the RMA after approval, or a QR code at a participating UPS Store |
| Processing time | Up to 14 business days from the date FragranceNet receives the return |
| Shipping requirement | Trackable courier (UPS, FedEx, or USPS with Delivery Confirmation) |
| Untrackable lost returns | FragranceNet is not responsible for packages not received that cannot be tracked |
The label point needs care. FragranceNet issues a prepaid return label with your RMA, but the policy also says a refund is minus shipping charges and that return shipping costs are not refunded unless the error was FragranceNet’s. Read the prepaid label as the shipping mechanism FragranceNet provides, not as a promise that the return trip is free; the cost position in the policy text is that shipping sits with the customer unless FragranceNet made the mistake.
The trackable-courier rule decides the risk on lost returns. If a return parcel disappears and cannot be tracked, that loss is yours. Use the label or QR code FragranceNet issues, or a trackable service of your own, and keep the tracking receipt until the refund lands. One special case works in your favour: a package returned to FragranceNet as refused, unclaimed or undeliverable is credited to your account accordingly.
What Happens to a Refused, Unclaimed or Undeliverable Package?
The returns page covers one situation shoppers rarely plan for. If a package is returned to FragranceNet as “refused,” “unclaimed,” or “undeliverable,” your account will be credited accordingly.
That clause matters in two cases. The first is a delivery that never reaches you because the carrier could not complete it: the parcel travels back to Deer Park, and the value comes back as an account credit rather than being lost. The second is a delivery you refuse at the door. Refusing a parcel is not a shortcut around the return policy, but FragranceNet’s own terms say the account is credited when the package comes back that way.
Do not treat refusal as a return method. The documented route for an item you do not want is the RMA process: authorized in advance, tracked in transit, and refunded minus shipping. The refused-package clause is a safety net for failed deliveries, and it pays in account credit, on FragranceNet’s timetable, not as an immediate card refund.
Can You Return to FragranceNet Without a Receipt?
FragranceNet’s process replaces the receipt with two documents: the packing slip, which must be included with the return, and the RMA number, which must be obtained before you ship and included with the parcel.
That structure leaves no room for an undocumented return. There is no published receipt-free route, no store-credit fallback, and no ID-based lookup in the returns policy. The RMA process itself starts from your order, through your account or the order status route on the site, so an order you cannot identify is an order you cannot authorize a return for.
Keep the confirmation email and the packing slip. Between them they carry everything the return needs: proof of what was bought, when it was received, and the paperwork the warehouse asks for.

Conclusion
FragranceNet’s policy is a discounter’s policy: a fair 30 days counted from receipt, a full refund of the item price, and a hard line at the seal. Nothing opened comes back, and skincare, haircare and makeup do not come back at all.
The process rewards doing things in order. Decide before you spray. Get the RMA before you ship. Include the number and the packing slip. Ship with tracking. Follow that sequence and the return is routine; break it, and the policy gives FragranceNet a reason to refuse at almost every step.
