Boscov’s Return Policy

Boscov’s return policy gives you 90 days from purchase to return most items, either by mail to the address on your packing slip or at any Boscov’s store, with the original packing slip and all merchandising tags attached. The exceptions are where shoppers get caught: furniture gets just 7 days from delivery, jewellery and watches get 30 days, and monogrammed items cannot be returned at all. This guide covers the windows, the furniture rules, and how refunds work.

How to Return an Item to Boscov’s

  1. Find your packing slip. For online orders, the original packing slip is the key document — it carries the return address and must be included in a mailed return, along with all merchandising tags. For store purchases, bring the original receipt.
  2. Choose mail or store. Ship the item to the address printed on the packing slip, or take it to any Boscov’s store — it does not have to be the store you bought from. Online orders can be returned at any store location.
  3. Check your category window first. Furniture, jewellery and air conditioners all run on shorter clocks than the headline 90 days, so confirm the deadline before you travel or post.
  4. Keep the item unused and complete. Non-defective items must be unused and complete in their original packaging to qualify for a refund. Missing accessories can reduce what you get back.
  5. Allow up to 10 days for processing. Boscov’s allows up to 10 days from the date of receipt to process a return, and your bank may need additional time to post the credit.

How Long Do You Have to Return Items to Boscov’s?

The standard window is 90 days from the date of purchase for most merchandise, in store and online alike. Within that window, Boscov’s offers three outcomes: a replacement, an exchange or a refund for the price paid. One limit applies to online-only items: for online exclusive items, exchanges are not available, so a refund or replacement is the choice there.

The 90 days is generous by department-store standards, but it is not universal. The category windows in the table above override it, and a handful of items cannot be returned at all — see the exceptions section below. If you are unsure which rule covers your purchase, the product description is the first place to look: non-returnable online-only items are clearly marked there.

Which Categories Have Shorter Windows?

Furniture is the tightest deadline in the store. Furniture returns must be made within 7 days of the delivery date, and for non-defective returns you will be charged a pick-up fee. Sauder furniture has its own twist: once assembled it cannot be returned at all, and non-defective Sauder returns carry a 25% cancellation fee and require a Return Authorization Number from Shopper Services.

Jewellery and watches get 30 days, with receipt and original packaging. Electronics have no separate exception published, so they fall under the general 90-day window — inspect them on delivery and report problems immediately, because Boscov’s may not accept electronics showing signs of wear or use. Air conditioners get 14 days from purchase and are otherwise covered by manufacturer warranty. Patio furniture gets 30 days from purchase, new and unused in its original packaging with receipt, while manufacturer defects can be handled at any time with the packaging and receipt kept. Swimming pools get 30 days in original packaging with all parts and proof of purchase.

Mattresses are a special case. Boscov’s mattresses (excluding Nectar beds) and box springs are not returnable, but they are covered by manufacturer warranty — and Boscov’s offers a 60-day Comfort Guarantee on mattress purchases: if you are not satisfied, contact Shopper Services and you can exchange the mattress for a new one of equal or greater value no later than 60 days from delivery. Unopened Nectar beds can be returned within 7 days of delivery, with the customer responsible for all shipping costs.

What Can’t Be Returned to Boscov’s?

The published exceptions are:

  • Monogrammed merchandise — not returnable; damaged or defective monogrammed items are returned to the vendor for replacement instead
  • Bedding — subject to its own bedding-return conditions
  • Gift cards — not returnable and not redeemable for cash
  • Clearance merchandise, floor samples and “as-is” merchandise — excluded from the policy
  • Merchandise bought for commercial use — excluded
  • Some online-only items — marked as non-returnable in their product description
  • Broken glass-top tables — not returnable
  • Assembled Sauder furniture — not returnable once assembled

One more condition applies to everything: misuse of merchandise voids all return and warranty policies. Keep items unused and complete, and keep the packaging until you are sure you are keeping the purchase.

Can You Return to Boscov’s Without a Receipt?

The policy is built around the receipt or packing slip, so keep them. For store purchases, bring the original receipt; for online orders, bring or include the original packing slip with all merchandising tags attached. If you have lost the paperwork, call Shopper Services on 1-800-284-8155 before travelling — they can advise whether the purchase can be traced another way. For mailed returns, the packing slip is not optional: a shipment without it may not be accepted.

How Are Refunds Issued and How Long Do They Take?

Refunds are issued in the same tender as the original purchase, or as a Merchandise Credit where that applies. Boscov’s allows up to 10 days from the date of receipt to process a return, and some summaries put the full refund timeline at up to three weeks after Boscov’s receives the item, once bank posting time is included. Original shipping fees are not refunded.

Return routeHow the refund timing works
In storeProcessed at the customer service desk; refund in the original tender or as Merchandise Credit
By mailAllow up to 10 days from receipt for processing, plus your bank’s posting time
PayPal purchasesRefunded only when shipped back to the address written on the packing slip

Two money details are worth knowing before you return. If you paid partly with a Rewards Certificate, its value is forfeited on return and is not refunded. And if you received the wrong item, Boscov’s takes care of the return shipping — contact Shopper Services on 1-800-284-8155 to start that process rather than paying postage yourself.

Does Boscov’s Extend Returns for the Holidays?

Boscov’s published policy states the standard 90-day window without a separate holiday extension. In practice, 90 days already covers the festive season comfortably: a gift bought in early December is returnable into early March, and a gift bought in late November runs into late February. Keep the packing slip and tags with any gift you give, so the recipient can use the full window.

Conclusion

Boscov’s 90-day window is one of the friendlier policies in department stores, and the any-store return option makes it easy to use. The traps are all in the exceptions: furniture’s 7 days, jewellery’s 30 days, and the packing slip that must travel with every mailed return. Keep the slip, keep the tags, and check the category rule before the clock runs out.
