ECCO Return Policy: 30 Days, Free Returns for CLUB Members and a $10 Fee for Everyone Else

ECCO’s return policy gives you 30 days from purchase to return a US online order, as long as the shoes are unused and unworn. ECCO CLUB members who were logged in when they ordered get free returns. Everyone else has a $10 return shipping fee plus applicable taxes deducted from the refund. Refunds go back to your original payment method, and ECCO asks you to allow 7–10 business days after the return is received and processed.

The holiday extension is unusually generous this year. Purchases made between October 5 and December 31, 2026 can be returned through January 31, 2027. This guide covers the windows, the CLUB rule, and how to return online or in store.

How to Return an Item to ECCO

  1. Start at the online return portal. Go to the return portal linked from ECCO’s Returns and Warranties page. Have your order number ready — it starts with one of the prefixes US, EC or MA — and the email address used to place the order.
  2. Check your eligibility. ECCO checks your return eligibility and contacts you if more information is needed. Use the return label provided through the portal to ship your items back.
  3. Pack the shoes unworn and in the original box. Items must be unused and unworn to qualify for a refund. Socks must be unopened and unworn. If returned items are worn or damaged, ECCO will contact you and send them back without a refund.
  4. Send the return to the warehouse. ECCO’s published return address is Peakform Logistics, 8862 E County Rd 100S, Avon IN 46123. The label from the portal carries the routing, so use it rather than addressing the box yourself.
  5. Or return in store. You can return your ECCO online purchase to any company-owned ECCO Retail Store or ECCO Outlet. Bring your order and email shipping confirmation, the packing list included with your purchase, the merchandise unworn and in the original box, a valid ID, and your original form of payment.

How Long Do You Have to Return Items to ECCO?

The standard window is 30 days from purchase for US online orders placed through us.ecco.com. The item must be unused and unworn, and socks must be unopened and unworn. Promotional purchases are refunded on a pro-rated basis — for example, a 10% off $250 or Buy More Save More deal — unless all qualifying items are returned.

The holiday exception stretches that window a long way. Purchases made between October 5 and December 31, 2026 can be returned through January 31, 2027. Purchases made on or after January 1, 2027 follow the standard 30-day return policy. If you bought shoes as a Christmas gift in October, you have until the end of January to decide, which is more than double the normal window.

One boundary matters. Returns are accepted only for US orders placed via us.ecco.com. Items purchased at ECCO retail stores or other retailers must be returned there. Independent retailers that carry ECCO shoes do not accept returns from us.ecco.com, so the place of purchase decides the return route.

Does ECCO CLUB Really Make Returns Free?

Yes — but only if you were logged in when you ordered. ECCO states that you must be logged in to your ECCO CLUB account at the time of placing your order to qualify for free returns. Joining the club after the order is placed does not make that order’s return free.

For non–ECCO CLUB members, or members who were not logged in at the time of ordering, a $10 return shipping fee plus applicable taxes is deducted from the refund. The fee applies per return, and it is taken from the money coming back to you rather than charged up front. If you shop at ECCO regularly, logging in before checkout is worth more than the points — it is the difference between a free return and a $10 deduction every time.

Can You Return a Gift You Received?

ECCO’s published US returns page does not set out a separate gift-return route. Returns run through the online portal, which needs the order number and the email address used to place the order. That means the recipient of a gift needs the giver’s order details to start a return.

The in-store route has the same requirement in a different form. To return an online purchase to a company-owned ECCO store, you must bring the order and email shipping confirmation, the packing list that came with the purchase, the merchandise unworn and in the original box, a valid ID, and the original form of payment. The refund is credited to the original payment method, which belongs to the buyer. If you received ECCO shoes as a gift and want to return them, ask the giver for the order confirmation before you go to the store or the portal.

What Can’t Be Returned to ECCO?

ECCO’s published conditions are short, and the main entries are:

  • Worn or used items — items must be unused and unworn to qualify for a refund. If returned items are worn or damaged, ECCO will contact you and send them back without a refund.
  • Opened or worn socks — socks must be unopened and unworn.
  • Items bought anywhere other than us.ecco.com — returns are accepted only for US orders placed via us.ecco.com. Items bought at ECCO retail stores or other retailers must be returned there.
  • Returns that violate ECCO policies — ECCO states it may refuse returns that violate its policies, and worn or damaged returns are sent back without a refund.

ECCO does not publish a separate list of final sale or clearance exclusions on its US returns page. The condition rule does the heavy lifting instead: unworn, unopened, tags and box intact, inside the window. Try the shoes on indoors, keep the box, and do not wear them outside until you are sure.

Does ECCO Charge a Restocking Fee?

No restocking fee is published. The only charge is the $10 return shipping fee plus applicable taxes deducted from the refund of non–ECCO CLUB members, or members who were not logged in when they ordered. ECCO CLUB members who were logged in at order time pay nothing to return.

Original shipping and handling fees are not refunded, and ECCO does not offer refunds for the Express shipping fee if that option was selected. Promotional purchases are refunded pro-rata unless every qualifying item goes back. So a discounted order returned in part comes back smaller than the headline price suggests, even before the $10 fee.

How Are Refunds Issued and How Long Do They Take?

Refunds are credited to your original payment method once your return is received and processed. ECCO asks you to allow up to 7–10 business days, and notes that timing may vary depending on your bank and shipping transit time. You receive an email confirmation once your refund has been processed.

SituationHow the refund works

Standard return, non-member or not logged inRefund minus the $10 return shipping fee plus applicable taxes; allow 7–10 business days
Promotional purchase, partial returnRefund pro-rated; return all qualifying items for the full promotional value
Worn or damaged returnNo refund — ECCO contacts you and sends the items back

Does ECCO Extend Returns for the Holidays?

Yes — and the dates are already published. Purchases made between October 5 and December 31, 2026 can be returned through January 31, 2027. That is the holiday extension for the 2026 season, and it applies to the standard 30-day policy.

Purchases made on or after January 1, 2027 follow the standard 30-day return policy, with no extension. If you buy in the first week of January, the 30 days apply from the purchase date as usual. The extension is generous but it has a hard end, so check your purchase date before assuming you have until the end of January.

Is Returning Different for Store and Online Purchases?

Yes, and the direction matters. An online order from us.ecco.com can be returned by mail through the portal or in store at any company-owned ECCO Retail Store or ECCO Outlet. The in-store route needs the order and email shipping confirmation, the packing list, the merchandise unworn and in the original box, a valid ID, and the original form of payment.

A purchase made in an ECCO retail store cannot be returned online. Items purchased at ECCO retail stores or other retailers must be returned there. Independent retailers that carry ECCO shoes do not accept returns from us.ecco.com at all. So an online order is the flexible one — it goes back either way — while a store purchase stays with the store.

Conclusion

ECCO’s return policy is simple and fair, with one trap: the free return only works if you were logged in to your ECCO CLUB account when you placed the order. Everyone else pays $10 plus taxes, and original shipping is never refunded. The 30-day window is standard, but the holiday extension through January 31, 2027 is one of the longest in this guide series. Keep the shoes unworn, keep the box, and log in before you check out — those three habits make an ECCO return free and painless.
